Why The Great Controversy Continues......

Hi everyone,
I have authored several Blogs in the past at various stages in my life starting in 2004.

However, after a few conversations with a few friends of mine, someone suggested I give this name to my blog.

Why? Because many are:

1) Unfamiliar with the book "The Great Controversy: Between Christ and Satan", a Church/Christian History Book written by Ellen G. White [which is by far the best history book I have ever read. The only book dearer to my heart when Great Controversy is the Bible of course, which is the Inspired Word of God.

2) In my home province of Newfoundland, Canada (and even in Canada for that matter), there is the little in the way of blogs or commentaries showing how the profound truths in Great Controversy and The Bible are playing out before our eyes in Current Events, Recent History, Politics, Economics, Philosophy, Education, Health,etc..

For example, You may not have been aware, but the book of Habakkuk in the Old Testament has this to say:

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booties unto them? (Habakkuk 2:7 King James Version)

Had you just read that Bible verse after having read recent news, you could have easily thought you were reading a plot summary or editorialized headline on the Debt Crisis in the United States of America (USA), Greece, Italy, or any number of other countries on the verge of bankruptcy since the 2008 Global Financial crisis that started due to terrible loan and lending policies implemented over decades in the USA (not to mention the lack of financial regulations in the USA to govern speculative stock-market investments manifested in institutions such as Wall Street).

3) There is a need to show how many of the on-going conflicts prophesized in the Bible predicted accurately many of the problems we face today. Since we can have confidence that the Bible predicted the current state of affairs, we can also have confidence in the God who inspired the writing of the Bible, and the biblical model of the church (which Christ instituted, but must always be subject to Christ, who is the Head of the church: Hebrews 3:14 and Ephesians 5:23..... you can look those passages up on http://www.biblegateway.com

4) There is a lack of understanding of Church and World History among many who say that they serve Christ or had served Christ in the past, but had left the church due to ignorance, bigotry, hypocrisy,etc.... but even such errors in the church were predicted by Jesus in the Bible, both in the 4 Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, And John), as well as the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible [and New Testament], of which John the Apostle was inspired by Jesus to write.

5) to provide a forum for discussion of how current financial, economic, political, social, ecclesiastical (church) and other fields of knowledge and happenings point to The Signs of the Times that we currently live in, and what The Bible says is yet to unfold.

And so with that, I end on this note: The Great Continues Continues........ on which side will you position yourself: on the side of Christ or on the side of Satan (on whose side we are by default because of the fall of Adam and Eve, unless we turn our heart, minds, and lives to Christ, and allow us to be born again into a new person, have His Commandments written in our hearts, and our minds transformed).
